Details about our Remote Support System

Bytewiser Data Systems can provide remote support to our network users in two different ways, On Demand and Full Time Monitoring The most common and most appropriate way for the typical desktop workstation user is On Demand through the use of our SupportWindow Host application. Once this free host software is installed and configured on a workstation, the user can call us and provided they have basic connectivity to the Internet they will be able to connect directly to our support console. Once connected our support operator can either simply view the users computer and guide them through the issue, or take control of the machine and make corrections. While in session, a real time clock decrements the pool of minutes available in the company's account. This time is displayed on both the console operator's screen and the user's screen. When the company's pool of minutes is exhausted, another block of minutes is charged to the company's account. When the session is closed there is no further connection existing between the user and our console until the next On Demand session is requested.

The second type of remote support Full Time Monitoring is most appropriate for server installations and requires the installation of our SupportWindow Service application. We charge a nominal fee for the SupportWindow Service software. Once it is installed and configured on a server, the service automatically connects to our console and remains connected. Should anything happen to break the connection, the service automatically re-establishes the connection when connectivity is restored. The service gives us added flexibility in remotely supporting these servers because it gives us the ability log on and log off and reboot the server at appropriate times. In most cases we can perform the tasks required to maintain a server without anyone at the location to work with us. Therefore we can perform routine tasks such as checking log files, installing updates, adding or removing users or performing and checking backups all during off time hours. Time spent administering a server through the SupportWindow Service application is managed using the same time pool system as that using the SupportWindow Host as noted above.
